The Application Process
The deadline to apply for the 3rd Annual CSR Case Competition is Saturday, March 4th 2017 at 11:59 p.m.
When applying, applicants have two choices:
1. Applicants can indicate the person they intend to compete alongside. They will be partnered with this individual, as long as this individual submits an application as well.
2. Applicants can apply without indicating anyone they would like to compete alongside. This will result in said party being paired with another individual who applied without indicating a partner of choice.
A total of 10 teams will be selected to participate in the competition. Each team will have 2 members, for a total of 20 competing delegates.
A $25.00 registration fee is required from all competing delegates.
A delegate package, containing detailed information about the event will be provided to all participants, in advance of the competition.
Delegates from external schools (universities other than Ryerson University) may also apply.

The Competition: Saturday, March 18th 2017
The competition will provide students with an excellent platform to learn more about what it takes to become a socially responsible business leader. There are 3 rounds in the competition. In each round, delegates must identify and analyze the CSR issues that are outlined in the case, to develop possible solutions. Students will present to a panel of judges. This panel will consist of both professors and industry professionals, with a background in the field of CSR. A predetermined number of teams will be eliminated from the competition after each round.
The case that is to be analyzed for the first round of the competition will be provided to all participants approximately 24 hours prior to the start of the competition. Students will be given 10 minutes to present to the panel of judges; a 10 minute question and answer period facilitated by the judges will follow. Six teams of students will be eliminated after the first round of the competition.
All of the teams that successfully complete the first round of the competition, will be given a new case to work on for the second round. These teams will be given exactly thirty minutes with this new case to prepare their presentation for the judges. Students will be given ten minutes to present to the panel of judges; a ten minute question and answer period facilitated by the judges will follow. Four teams will be eliminated from the competition after the second round.
For the final round of the competition, the top three teams will be provided with another new case to analyze, and they will be given approximately twenty minutes to prepare before presenting to the judges. Students will be given ten minutes to present to the panel of judges; a ten minute question and answer period facilitated by the judges will follow.
Following the final round of the competition, an awards ceremony will be hosted, during which the finalists will be granted with their prizes. The top three teams will be awarded a cash prize.
All of the participants in the CSR Case Competition will enjoy breakfast, lunch and a reception providing them with many opportunities to converse with the other contestants, as well as the industry professionals, and professors present at the event.
The teams that have been eliminated prior to the final round of the competition will have an opportunity to participate in exciting workshops.
We encourage everyone to come and try their hand at the competition! The day will certainly be an enjoyable learning experience full of excitement and entertainment. We hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please e-mail: email@example.com
